Arqueología de México Norte /Archaeology of Northern Mexico Home |
| |
Description |
“Archaeology of Northern Mexico” includes photos of artifacts collected at Galeana and Paquime, contributed papers and posters, a “Field Guide of the Ceramics of the Casas Grandes Region,” annotated references on prehistoric ceramics, and an excellent bibliography of sources on the archaeology of Northern Mexico. The site is hosted by scholars at the University of New Mexico and is currently welcoming additional contributions. The site title would suggest bilingual Spanish-English pages, but currently most pages are available in English only with Spanish versions available for selected pages. This site is an excellent introductory resource for those interested in the archaeology of Northern Mexico as well as a resource for those interested in sharing their own work. This site also provides instructions for joining paquime-L, a list-serve “devoted to discussions of the archaeology of Chihuahua and Sonora.” |

Description |
Chaco Digital Initiative is a research archive that is attempting to integrate the wide collection of information on Chacoan history. To ensure that the materials being integrated into the archive reflect a national perspective a steering committee composed of researchers from around the US was developed. As of 10/31/2005, Phase 1 of the archive - comprehensive archival information about the Neil Judd and Frank Roberts collections at the Smithsonian Institution and partial inventories for Chaco collections at seven other institutions - is online. Users interested in keeping updated on the Initiative may join an email mailing list on the "Contact" page. |
