How Do I Acknowledge SIG?

We encourage you to use SIG in your research. In particular, we hope that students will find it to be a useful resource. However, we also ask that you acknowledge SIG (as well as the particular resources you are using) in your work. The precise way in which you cite electronic resources will vary based on the citation format you use. In general, however, you should include:

1. The date on which you accessed the resource. Because information on the web changes frequently, it is important to note the date, as well as the web site, to which you are referring.

2. The fact that you retrieved the site through the SIG.

A sample citation might look like this:

Logan Museum of Anthropology, Beloit College
2005 Ancient Cultures of the Southwest. Electronic document, http://www.beloit.edu/~museum/logan/southwest/, accessed February 4. Retrieved from the Southwest Information Gateway (http://web.arizona.edu/~swst/SIG/).
